The Children of Boccob

Can gods have too much power?

Some believe that is the source of the Children of Boccob, eight powerful spellcasters who each focus on one of the schools of magic. According to some, the god of magic had too much power to handle on his own, so he distributed small parts of his magic power to eight unborn children of different races. These children have a natural inclination towards one of the eight schools of magic- Abjuration, Conjuring, Divination, Enchanting, Evocation, Illusion, Necromancy and Transmutation. Some of them are trained wizards or sorcerers, becoming even more powerful spellcasters because of their godlike lineage. Others have no clue that they are so magically inclined, and they use the few spells that they have acquired to aid them (or accidentally hinder them) in their journeys.
